Preventive dentistry protects your oral health, saves you time and money, and reduces the need for complex, costly, and invasive dental treatments like dental crowns and root canals. This field of dentistry focuses on preventing and identifying oral health problems like gum disease and cavities, and providing the necessary treatment to keep your mouth healthy. Contact us now to schedule a consultation in New Berlin, and get the care you need from Willow Dental.
If you’re a new patient, your hygienist will begin by taking x-rays of your mouth. These are usually taken yearly at our office. X-rays give Drs. Jake Jacomet and Nicholas Dwan unique insights into your oral health, and allow them to look below the surface for signs of common oral health issues.
Your hygienist will remove plaque and tartar from your teeth, buff and polish them to a shine, and then floss to eliminate any remaining debris. This keeps your smile clean and healthy.
Drs. Jake Jacomet or Nicholas Dwan will examine your mouth and look for signs of oral health issues. They will also discuss your past oral health challenges with you, and ask about your oral hygiene habits and lifestyle to get a more complete picture of your oral health.
After your consultation, Drs. Jake Jacomet or Nicholas Dwan will discuss their findings with you, and schedule any necessary follow-ups that may be needed to protect your oral health.
Teeth cleanings are an essential part of any six-month visit to our office. They remove plaque and tartar that can’t be eliminated with at-home brushing alone, and leave your teeth bright, smooth, and healthy.
We exclusively use digital x-rays at our office. These offer excellent insights into your oral health, minimize radiation exposure, and ensure you get the best possible care at Willow Dental.
Often done after teeth cleanings, this treatment involves painting a fluoride-rich liquid onto the teeth. This attracts minerals to the teeth, reversing “demineralization” and strengthening the enamel to prevent decay.
Dental sealants are made of plastic resin. They are applied to your rear teeth in liquid form, then the resin is hardened. This seals the tooth, protecting it from cavities caused by oral bacteria and acid. When properly applied, sealants can easily last 5+ years.
We offer expert periodontal care, including deep cleaning (scaling & root planing). With early intervention, Drs. Jake Jacomet, Nicholas Dwan, and Andrea Emmerich can reverse or halt the progression of gum disease, and restore your oral health.
